The imminent death of the legendary Bertone has been announced around the world by many media and last week our columnist Mauri Salo shared his sad feelings with us. Many of you have sent in mails of disappointment and sadness. In response we have recollected the last years and months of Stile Bertone. We offer you a report written six months ago on the likely sale and these days we investigate what the problems are and what the solution could be.

Next we look a bit closer to the BMW Vision and the technology that inspire its interior design. This comes at the time of the launch of the BMW i8 and we have a look to its top features.

Next is the challenge of autonomous cars. Volvo is testing a fleet of 100 vehicles we can travel with like on our own train. The project also suggests a redesign of our cities. We question if they are reinventing the train and the cities.

Last but not least we welcome the contribution of a new columnist, Lyn R. Zbinden (a mechanical engineer and glass specialist) who will unveil the secret of glass technology applications to automotive design.
